Chief Engineer - Luxury Residential - London (Kensington) - £60k - £70k doe

Are you an experienced and ambitious engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? Look no further! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Engineer to lead the engineering operations for a brand new luxury residential development opening later this year. You will be part of the mobilsation team and will liaise with the construction team so you're ahead of any potential issues and have advanced knowledge of the development. For the right candidate there is amazing progression opportunity and plans in place for this position to grow to a multi-site chief engineer with a suitable remuneration package.

This development is set to redefine the concept of luxury living, offering state-of-the-art amenities, exquisite design, and unparalleled service. As the Chief Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all engineering systems within the development.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a leadership role within the engineering field, preferably in a luxury residential or hospitality environment. Have strong knowledge of building systems and operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety. Have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Looking for someone to start sooner rather than later but will wait up to 3 months if you have an extended notice period.


Some of the duties:

* Oversee and manage the engineering team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure the highest standards of performance and professionalism.
* Develop and implement maintenance and repair programs to ensure the efficient operation of all engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
* Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to coordinate and supervise maintenance and repair activities.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any potential issues and implement preventive measures.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and expenses.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.

Essential criteria:

* Trade experience and relevant high end market experience of construction/repairs/maintenance with mechanical qualifications and training
* Mechanical services trade background
* Ability to read and interpret technical MEP information, schematics, diagrams and drawings
* Extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of Mechanical plant
* Extensive electrical knowledge if not qualified
* Plumbing, HVAC experience
* Experience with building management hardware and software
* Proven ability to manage and coach people
* Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms
* Good presentation
* Excellent organisation and attention to details
* Proven ability to support and coach people
* An understanding of maintaining a clean water system within a large residential complex
