A great opportunity to join a globally operating and successful logistics / automation company as a multi skilled Maintenance Manager working at a well-known retailers automated distribution centre in Preston.

In this role of Maintenance Manager, you will be mainly operating in a leadership role managing your team of 12 engineers. Occasionally may be needed to jump on the tools for larger breakdowns, but this is a rarity.

Seeking an experienced engineer with good supervisory or management experience. Role would ideally suit someone looking to progress and take their career to the next stage.

  • Salary of c£59k
  • Monday to Friday (c7am – 4pm) with flexibility

Day to day activities of the Maintenance Manager include :

  • Team training, development, appraisals, holiday leave, discipline action if required, welfare and wellbeing
  • Provide high level of customer satisfaction whilst maintaining or enhancing the Company reputation
  • Provide rapid and effective customer support
  • Monitor, report and act upon relevant KPIs
  • Manage site / team budgets and commercial activities
  • Supporting electro-mechanical tasks / issues
  • Manage all system improvements and future equipment installations
  • Interact with on-site and off-site management informing them of issues and successes
  • Manage Health & Safety and complete required risk assessments
  • Provide monthly, summary and detailed reports covering commercial and technical activities

Requirements of Maintenance Manager:

  • Proven management / leadership experience
  • Ideally fully apprenticeship trained with Level 3 engineering qualifications in electrical and mechanical elements, ideally HNC or HND
  • Good level of electrical and mechanical knowledge from a manufacturing, automated distribution or FMCG environment
  • CI / Lean knowledge and experience
  • Experienced with CMMS
  • IOSH desirable
