Role Overview

The Group Risk Management (GpRM) function is responsible for coordinating all the risk management activities within the business. This includes the development, maintenance and enhancement of the Group Risk Management Policy and Framework, as well as risk management reporting.

The Risk Analyst will assist the GpRM Function with managing and developing the processes and strategy of risk management throughout the IHP Group to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance of effective risk management and reporting in line with the Group Risk Management Framework

• Maintain reliable and up-to-date data to support risk monitoring MI and report any risk breaches

• Assist with the maintenance of risk appetite statements, metrics, trigger points and escalations linked to the Group’s strategy

• Provide support on the application of the IHP Group Risk Management Policy and Framework to the business

• Assist in with embedding an appropriate risk culture across the Group

• Continually seeking to improve processes to make them more efficient

• Fostering and maintaining strong working relationships with internal stakeholders Risk Reporting

• Supporting the delivery of risk management reporting requirements to the Audit and Risk Committees and Boards in line with agreed timetables

• Regular review of risk registers with the risk owners

• Collating reliable and accurate MI and risk data for inclusion in risk reports

• Assist with updating the Group Risk Management Framework, Policy, and all other relevant Risk Management documentation

• Regular review of risk registers to ensure the completeness and timelines of data recorded by the risk owner

• Support the production of ad hoc risk and control reviews and reporting as required by management

• Support and assist in documenting the discussions concerning the key risk exposures with the business risk owners

• Maintain system integrity and data quality standards of the Group’s risk management system

• Assist with timely and accurate production of relevant risk related reporting Risk Regulation

• Assist in maintaining fit for purpose risk governance and risk management policies and procedures to ensure relevant regulatory requirements are met.

• Awareness of regulatory requirements influencing the risk agenda of the Group Education and Knowledge Requirements

Essential

• A good understanding of the retail financial services industry

• A good understanding of Risk management processes and ability to analyse risks and controls • Good knowledge of key MS Office functionality

Desirable

• Intermediate MS Excel

• A good understanding of the retail advice and/or investment platform market; ISAs, pensions, investment products

• Risk Management or associated qualifications

• A good understanding of governance (including the three lines of risk governance model)

• A good understanding of FCA/PRA regulatory frameworks Experience Requirements

Essential

• Minimum of 2 years of risk management experience within Financial Services

• Direct experience of delivering and/or supporting key risk management processes including facilitating risk and control self assessments (R&CSA)

• Experience of liaising with key stakeholders

• Experience of report writing

Desirable

• An understanding of delivering and applying 'good risk management practices' into business processes

• Experience in facilitating risk/scenario workshops

• Experience of Board level report writing

• Previous experience with prudential reports (such as ICAAP/ICARA and/or ORSAs)

• Skilled at summarising and presenting key points to support management’s understanding and decision making

• Ability to collate and analyse data in order to form an initial risk management view.

• Able to read business process maps and identify risk and control features within the process

• Self motivated to manage risk tasks or initiatives on an individual basis

• An eye for detail and a commitment to delivering continuous improvement

• Able to see the bigger picture and facilitate good working relations between different teams / departments.
