Senior Finance Associate
A London-based single family office with varied interests is looking for a Senior Associate to assist the CEO and principal in overseeing the principal’s personal and professional affairs and to oversee his investment portfolio.
The family office also provides support to a connected philanthropic foundation whose objective it is to empower communities, facilitate growth and create a sustainable impact across Africa.
The successful candidate will likely have previous Family Office experience and thus understand the need to be flexible (both in range of duties and working hours), autonomous and hard working.
Finance
- Assist in personal and corporate tax return preparations for the principal and various investment vehicles, philanthropic foundations etc in collaboration with professional tax advisors
- Provide support for the management of the principal’s personal finances including cash management (including but not limited to yield optimisation)
- Directorships for various investment vehicles and philanthropic foundations
- Responsible for book-keeping and preparation of annual statutory accounts for the family office and various investment vehicles and philanthropic foundations that it supports
- Keep up-to-date with tax and other relevant industry developments that could impact the principal’s personal situation, investment and / or philanthropic structures
- Support the principal and CEO on strategic projects in furtherance of their philanthropic foundation’s objectives
Investment portfolio
- Analysing and monitoring the existing portfolio, including liaising with investee companies’ management teams and fund managers
- Preparation of portfolio reporting, including monthly analysis of performance and provision of executive summary reporting
- Assist with asset allocation analysis and performance monitoring across assets and asset classes
- Lead investment due diligence with CEO oversight on an ad hoc basis and assist in deal execution
Required qualities or skills:
- Three to five years post-ACA or equivalent qualification
- A good understanding of taxes is desirable
- CFA qualification or part-qualification is desirable but not required
- Intellectual curiosity and self-drive
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Individual should be flexible (in terms of timing and in range of duties) to cater to the evolving needs of the principal
