Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Teacher of Business at our Worthing campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,189 - £40,839 per annum.

The Teacher of Business role:

Are you interested in the opportunity to join an outstanding college group, sharing your Business expertise with engaged students and helping to shape their future careers?

The department delivers a range of courses which includes; Level 1 Business, Level 2 Business, Level 3 Camtech Business Certificate, Extended Certificate & Diploma, A Level Business Studies, A Level Economics and LIBF Financial Studies.  From September 2024 we will also be introducing the Management & Administration T Level.

As our Teacher of Business, you will be joining a successful team of seven experienced teachers who teach across the different subject areas. The department works closely together and you will be fully supported by the team. If you have a passion for all elements of Business, Finance and Economics and feel you have the drive to further develop students outcomes and advance teaching and learning and assessment, we would like to meet you.

A position of Subject Lead is also available for an appropriate candidate. This position has 2 hours remission each week and an annual A1 allowance. The position of Subject Lead is permanent and is available for September for those with the ambition & skills to effectively become Subject Leads in a popular & growing department.

Key Responsibilities of ourTeacher of Business:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
  • Undertaking the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Our ideal Teacher of Business should have the below skills and experience:

  • Experience Teaching A Level Business
  • An up to date interest in Business
  • Education to degree level in relevant subject
  • Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
  • The ability to obtain an appropriate teaching qualification as defined by the Corporation
