Summary

We are looking for a Planning & Projects professional to focus activity against the Fundraising Delivery Plan. As a key member of the Fundraising Operations team, you’ll be working across fundraising to support our teams enabling delivery of this plan, overseeing activity and supporting our people to progress on key development work in order to fulfil our budget and fundraising objectives.

What it's like to work here

The Fundraising Operations team is our “engine for fundraising growth,” supporting the activity of both our central and regional fundraising colleagues. You will be reporting to the Head of Fundraising Operations, but supporting across all areas of the National Trust fundraising activity.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

The National Trust Fundraising team raises over £100m every year for conservation projects across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. And we have big ambitions to grow our income. Your role is to pro-actively and reactively plan and coordinate a range of activities across the Fundraising team.

Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Support & Revenue, Communications & Marketing, Risk, Finance and beyond, you'll support the team to on delivery of our in-year plan. You'll support the fundraising budget process and the development and implementation of the learning and development plan, internal communications plan (inc associated meetings), as well as managing our risk profile and enabling growth activity through performance reporting.

You’ll lead on the coordination and communication for the fundraising delivery plan, facilitating relevant fundraising workstreams that bring together all the relevant stakeholders. You’ll be monitoring progress and evaluating / showcasing success.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • Proficient in both written and oral communication, with the ability to create clear and captivating messages.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, readily adapting to changes, and collaborating effectively with colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptionally organised with a keen attention to detail, and the drive to innovate and promote best practices
  • Passionate about leading on multiple, varied processes and manage moving priorities efficiently in a timely manner
  • Someone who likes to interrogate diverse information and data sources, and reach appropriate conclusions
  • Knowledgeable of Business Planning and strategy development process and how they sit within complex business environments
  • Somebody who knows what creates fundraising success, including the role of our teams such as corporate, philanthropy, grants, legacies, as well as support functions, such as data analysis, prospect research, events and stewardship
  • Knowledgeable of fundraising databases (e.g. Salesforce), and Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
