The role of GIS Support Analyst is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right person to assist with implementation of GIS solutions across multiple disciplines and through all parts of a project’s lifecycle.

Primarily responsible for providing GIS technical support, training and consulting to users and perform other GIS related tasks as requested including creating and maintaining web mapping applications and maintaining in-house developed systems.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide GIS technical support, training, and consulting to the users and perform other GIS related tasks as requested.
  • Create, edit, import, and manage spatial data to create and maintain GIS data repositories.
  • Create standard queries to extract and compile data and produce analytical work products.
  • Design and develop complex cartographic representations of GIS data to complete complex mapping tasks in support of project needs.
  • Create and maintain web maps and applications, story maps, and other GIS products using the ESRI platform.
  • Assist with user training sessions as related to use of system.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience of providing GIS support in project focused environments with internal clients
  • Either a degree qualification in GIS or a related field and more than 2 years work experience
  • Experience using ArcGIS 10x and its extensions
  • Highly experienced in the use of Geospatial Software both in desktop and webtools and analysis (specifically, ESRI stack including ArcGIS Server and Portal).
  • Experience of working in a Common Data Environment use for collaborative information sharing and modelling.
  • Data schema modelling and database design expertise and writing SQL queries within RDBMS.
