Trinity House Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Finance to join an expanding education organisation with a succession route to become Chief Finance Officer. The Head of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing all financial aspects of our organisation, ensuring financial stability, compliance, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support organisational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor financial performance and prepare regular reports for senior management and the board of directors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk effectively.
  • Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Full accounting qualification is essential.
  • Proven experience (3 years) in a senior finance role, preferably in the education/public/non-profit sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of financial regulations, reporting standards, and best practices.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
