Our client is a 16+ Further Education College based in Shropshire. Rated Good in it's last OFSTED report, this college has seen massive improvements over the last 2 years, and they are continuing to strive for excellence. The College gives students greater choices and dedicated subject resources across multiple campus' and is proud to offer the most flexible curriculum across Shropshire. Offering vocational, academic, higher education and apprenticeship courses that give students the knowledge and experience to find work in their chosen subjects.

The role:

The College is looking for a Lecturer who can deliver courses in Uniformed Services until the end of 2024, however the role may continue to the end of the academic year in 2025.

Duties of the position:

  • Preparation and marking, profiling, student progress, setting rigorous and challenging targets and recording these following the organisations processes, Completing self-assessment reports, providing enrichment, and complete references for UCAS applications. Be calm, and organised and demonstrate a disciplined approach. A keen interest in innovative learning delivery systems.
  • Undertake outstanding formal scheduled teaching relevant to the provision on offer within the curriculum.
  • Be prepared to work flexibly and creatively to benefit the student experience, and success of the student and of the college. Be innovative in your TLA delivery.

What you need:

  • A full teaching qualification
  • A good understanding of the Uniformed Services sector relating to armed services and or emergency services
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good levels of ICT skills
  • Uniformed Services vocational background
  • Additional qualifications such as Mountain leading, Climbing (desirable)
