What you will do:

We are offering a full-time permanent advanced Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship for someone who wishes to join our Data Technician team in our Letchworth office. This is a genuine alternative to university for people who have a passion for business and who want to launch their career with us.

  • As a Data Technician apprentice, you will get the unique opportunity to learn on the job and manage data in ways that can significantly benefit the business. You will get to dive deep into data analysis, focusing on using this information for continuous improvement within our team.
  • You'll learn how to run various reports that provide valuable information on stock levels and assist in optimizing the warehouse for easy access to products. Your training will involve getting hands-on experience with various reporting software such as SAP, Oracle, and Kronos
  • On-the-Job Work Experience: You'll spend significant time with our qualified data technicians and engineers, showing you the ropes and growing your skills throughout your apprenticeship.
  • You'll be tasked with improving efficiency and finding ways to optimize manual work, thereby making a tangible impact on the business. You'll also get to showcase your communication skills by demonstrating different ways of conveying data's meaning, tailored to audience requirements.
  • You'll produce clear and consistent technical documents. Accompanied by fully trained data technicians, you'll be encouraged to ask questions and learn from a blend of on-the-job and classroom training.

Requirements for the role:

  • GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade 5)
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths (Grade 5)
  • IT GCSE Desirable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft power platforms desirable.

Training and Qualifications:

  • College Attendance: You'll attend college on either a day release or block release basis, depending on your location and the college's scheduling. You will be enrolled on a level 3 Data Technician Qualification qualification. This structured education component will complement your on-the-job training, providing you with comprehensive knowledge and skills to become a successful maintenance technician.

What happens next?

  • Suitable candidates will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position and provide necessary documentation. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre in May, where they will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview.
  • Within 48 hours of the assessment centre, candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can begin the apprenticeship on September 2, 2024.
