Are you an experienced Business Architect looking for an exciting new role?

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Corporate Strategy and People team as a Business Architect on a fixed term basis for 6-9 months. Based from our head office in Basingstoke, you'll combine office and home working to ensure a positive work / life balance.

It's a really exciting time to join us as Sovereign have joined forces with Network Homes to form SNG (Sovereign Network Group). Together we provide over 84,000 homes and invest in communities across London and the South of England – our purpose being to provide quality affordable homes and places that people love for generations.

We have an ambitious Corporate Plan and we're undertaking a large-scale transformation programme to deliver our goals. This role will be key in supporting us in planning and shaping our operating model and integration plans., supporting in providing an additional layer of alignment and assurance to ensure that we are effectively executing our business strategy.

The Role

Reporting to the Lead Business Architect, you'll work across our internal teams, particularly Solution and Process Architecture, to help interpret and contextualise strategy for operational needs. You'll develop business capability maps, value streams and roadmaps to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using Architecture tools to bring high level impact analysis as change projects are being shaped
  • Working with the Lead Business Architect to assess the impact of our Corporate Plan and business strategies on various capabilities, documenting what change needs to happen at a capability level, as well as how changes will impact performance to guide decision making
  • Crafting business capability maps, defining capability attributes, and establishing future state maturity at a capability level
  • Collaborating to create new business cases and review existing ones to ensure solutions deliver our corporate plan, provide Value for Money and are outcomes focused
  • Supporting the creation of a roadmap of transformation that covers the short, medium and long term change requirements to our capabilities improvements
  • Utilising architecture tools to analyse and track the impact of planned change across our architecture layers
  • Supporting with the establishment of our Architecture governance, ensuring these bodies effectively contribute to strategy and planning

What we're looking for

You'll have proven experience in a similar role in Business Architecture, with evidence of working through transformation and / or complex enterprise wise initiatives. You'll be experienced in working effectively within cross-functional teams. You'll also have:

  • Experience or knowledge of using Value Streams and Capability models in identifying gaps for target operating models
  • Experience in developing business capability maps, value streams and roadmaps to interlink business strategy ambitions and execution
  • A strong track record in developing engaging visuals and relaying clear messages from complex information that is easy to understand and interpret
  • Strong data manipulation and visualisation skills, with experience of synthesising data from multiple sources
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • A TOGAF certification or equivalent is preferred
  • BCS Business Architecture Certificate or equivalent is desirable
