Location: London, Whitechapel E1

Reports To: Medical Operations Manager

Shift pattern: 09:00 - 18:00, Monday-Friday

Position Summary:

A position has become available for a Controller to join eCourier’s Operations team. This demanding role will be responsible for coordinating a fleet of drivers to make collections and deliveries nationwide.

The successful candidate must hold a high level of concentration and attention to detail and the ability to understand and distribute varied information during critical and busy times. The role would dictate a flexible approach to both working hours and the candidate must have the ability to and interact with associates at all levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Allocations of collections and deliveries to couriers
  • Route planning as efficiently as possible, as well as arranging ad-hoc changes as required.
  • Communicating to drivers the relevant information appropriate to the consignment.
  • To monitor riders /drivers’ earnings to ensure the minimum turnover for low wages is maintained.
  • Managing allocations to be aligned with our clients service level agreements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 1.5 years of driver dispatch/controlling/transport experience.
  • Previous experience in freight or courier industry
  • Extensive knowledge of the London and home countries, with a good general knowledge of the UK road network
  • Adaptable and able to perform well under pressure.
  • Well-developed prioritisation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Can-do attitude

Job responsibilities:

  • To follow and adopt the Company’s Policies and culture.
  • To allocate all customers bookings in line with the company guidelines.
  • To ensure customers are always kept informed about delays outside the normal company guidelines.
  • To promote a proactive attitude to the riders/drivers to ensure our company image is always maintained at the highest level.
  • To ensure a proactive approach to customer queries is taken and all are dealt with both quickly and efficiently.
  • To ensure all rider and controller queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
