Company Accountant
Your new companyYou will work for an established, market-leading company who are 'Investor in People' accredited. This award-winning company is looking for an experienced accountant to join their professional accounting team. Your new roleAs Company Accountant, you will be a key part of the finance team delivering the month-end report pack and supporting reconciliations. The position will involve working with all departments within the company, promoting financial and driving continuous improvements and efficiencies, reporting to the Financial Controller.You will be involved in the preparation of reports to assist with commercial decisions and preparation of information for budget setting and forecasting, as well as liaising with bankers and auditors when required and providing assistance with testing internal controls and instigating improvements where necessary.Key responsibilities include:Producing meaningful, accurate monthly management accountsControl account reconciliations including bank, debtors, creditors, pension etc.Preparation and submission of UK and ROI VAT returnsValuation of stock and work in progress/accrued incomeBalance sheet reconciliationsVariance analysis and reportingInternal controls, process documentation/flow chartsAnnual budgeting, planning and forecastingManage capital expenditureCashflow projectionsReviewing accounting processes/practices and making improvements where applicableWhat you'll need to succeedFully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar accounting roleStrong IT skills, including a high proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExtensive knowledge of business systems, process and reportingStrong project management and excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire excellent performance from colleaguesA proactive and flexible working approach with the ability to adapt to changing situationsDesirableGood working knowledge of Sage Accounts & Payroll What you'll get in returnYou will work for an award-winning, innovative business who pride themselves on their strong company values and employee commitment.
