The Opportunity A new opportunity for a Credit Controller has arisen within the Head Office Finance Department. Based in Bolton and working as part of an experienced growing Finance Team you will manage account ledgers across several Group businesses and report to the Credit Control Manager. As Credit Controller you duties and responsibilities will involve: Proactively managing the accounts of all clients across 2 Group ledgers, ensuring timely payments are made within the contractual payment terms.Contacting customers to ensure payment is received in a timely fashion, undertaking proactive credit control via phone & email.Updating internal systems with notes of all correspondence to and from Clients.Allocation of payments received.Managing the credit control in-box (email).Conducting weekly debtors meeting with Credit Control Manager and circulating said report to the wider business.Escalating all problematic issues to Credit Control Manager.Communicating with other offices to ensure issues causing the delay in customer invoices are dealt with promptly.Building relationships with customers to ensure smooth running of accounts.Liaising with external debt collection agency re the outsourcing of any non-paying accounts. Role Overview: The ideal candidate will have experience in credit control, preferably within the legal or professional services industry. While prior experience with ARCS and Aderent systems is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing credit control functions, maintaining strong relationships with partners, and presenting financial statistics to stakeholders. Based in Northampton, Northamptonshire our award-winning client is looking for a Financial Controller to join the team on a permanent, hybrid-working basis, with 3 days required in the office per week. This role would suit an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant who is from an audit background looking for their 2nd role out of practice. They will be responsible for supervising and reviewing the financial month end close process for the business with particular focus on meeting reporting deadlines and other work performed by junior members of the team. The company are leading financial services provider with over 700 employees across their brands, and a turnover of over £150 million which makes this the ideal business for someone who wants to develop their career. The successful individual will be ACA/ACCA qualified with previous experience of managing a team. They will have experience working with group consolidations, accounts preparation audit in either practice or industry. IFRS/FRS/UK GAAP experience is also essential. Good technical accounting knowledge as well as modelling is also required for this role. Sage X3, ZAPP, VENA systems experience is desired, but not essential.
