We are thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a newly qualified or Band 5 equivalent Occupational Therapist to join our CAMHS team. This role guarantees robust developmental opportunities and tailored support to enable progression to a Band 6 level within a timeframe suited to your previous experience and achievement of defined competencies. Located in Staffordshire, Ivetsey Bank Hospital is a Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) facility offering specialised, intensive inpatient care and support to children and young people with severe, enduring, and complex mental health conditions. We are dedicated to providing caring, supportive, recovery-focused treatment and we achieve this by working together with our young people, their families and other professionals. Our hospital is part of the wider ACG Mental Health Network and a key partner in the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative, led by Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. We prioritise a clinically led model of care, developed in consultation with doctors, nurses, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and other experts in the field, alongside feedback from our young people and their families. Our approach is person-centred, tailored to the unique needs, hopes and challenges of each individual, and we utilise evidence-based practices to inform our treatment and support strategies. We have our own Ofsted registered school on site so our young people can continue with their education while receiving treatment, provided they are well enough to attend. What you'll be doing: Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rightsProvide Occupational Therapy services to a caseload of young people with severe or complex mental health conditionsCollaborate with multi-disciplinary team colleagues to develop and implement individualised treatment plans.Engage with young people and their families to understand their goals and preferencesKeep up to date with new treatment methods and be actively involved in research projects relating to specialist areaFacilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on areas such as activities of daily living, sensory integration, and social skills developmentEvaluate effectiveness of service and carry out audits where requiredBe responsible for department training and contribute to training and development of all staffEnsure risk management and safety procedures are in place for the OT Department and adhered toDrive the hospital vehicle when required What you'll have: HCPC registrationFull clean UK driving licenceExperience or placement within a CAMHS or acute mental health setting is desirableInterested in dynamic therapy with patients who are motivated to changeStrong communication, interpersonal, and team-working skillsSkilled in the facilitation of a range of group interventionsSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS We also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
