Logistics Administrator
Our well-established client in Leek is looking for an experienced Logistics Administrator to join them, on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the role is to organise road, sea and air freight transportation to ensure finished products are delivered to customers in a timely fashion. You will be expected to maintain excellent delivery service levels and ensure a right first-time attitude to all deliveries and transportation requirements. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Preparation and collation of all necessary paperwork for each movement to adhere to international legal requirements e.g. export licenses/permits/customs clearance/bills of lading/insurance etc.Liaise daily with Customers and Freight Forwarders regarding shipments.Obtain QuotationsMonitor bookings pre-shipmentObtain sailing confirmation from carrier, monitor post-shipment, ensure correct documentation in placeUpdate systems when delay identifiedPrint shipment documentationBook transportation of goodsEnsure all required documentation completedTrack through to deliveryRaise non-conformancesTraining will be given in the customer service and Procurement team to help where required. Qualifications & Experience Essential: High level of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communicationThe ability to solve problems and work well under pressureStrong organisational skillsAble to multitaskExcellent IT skillsExcellent telephone mannerSelf-motivatedAble to work as part of a team Desirable: Previous transportation/logistics/haulage experienceKnowledge of current shipping law/legal requirementsExperienced in Export documentation Hours of Work: 8.45am - 5pm Monday to Friday Salary: £23-28k dependent on experience
