ECT Early Career Teacher

Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant- Shepton Mallet Do you have experience working with vulnerable people or do you have a passion for helping others? Are you looking for a new role supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you resilient and compassionate? Five Education are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant in Shepton Mallet. As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with identified children and young people, encouraging them to learn and challenge themselves. Some of the pupils have a diagnosis of Special Education Needs (SEN) such as Autism or ADHD and/ or mental health challenges. Other children at the school have conditions such as Down's Syndrome. Some of the children experience Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role is located in Shepton Mallet, a car is not essential to get to the school. The work is 5 days a week, term time only and the hours are 8:30-15:30. You would be working 1:1 with children, at times the ratio of adults to children may be 2:1. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of working with children, young people or adults who display challenging behaviour. You will need to be compassionate, resilient and be able to establish an excellent rapport with hard-to-reach pupils. This role is for people who can demonstrate experience of working with children who have SEND and this is reflected in the rate of pay. Teaching Assistant

The children at this school have ASC (Autism) ADHD and some have experienced early years trauma. Children at this school need guidance and support with their behaviour. To complete this role you will need to be resilient, patient and excellent at establishing rapport with hard to reach children. Cover Teacher

Five Education is working with a post-16 special school based near Shirehampton that requires support staff to work with them on a full-time basis. Students at this school have severe learning difficulties and complex needs, so experience working in this setting would be a big advantage. This position is to start ASAP and will last until the end of the school year.
