Lecturer

Why not join us as a Support Mentor - Autism . This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Day to day of the role Deliver support to learners on the autism spectrum across all programmes and levels across the college, under the guidance of the Autism team. Aid in the production/creation of individualised learner profiles/support plans e.g. Social Communication and Interaction; Independence; Anxiety management; Sensory sensitivities. To work collaboratively with curriculum, support workers and specialist teams within the college and to actively contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). To contribute to developing the college’s specialist model of practice, ensuring appropriate and high quality mentoring and guidance for learners on the autism spectrum. equired skills and qualifications A creative and innovative approach to autism spectrum, with an understanding of the barriers of an educational environment. Knowledge and skills in working with people with learning difficulties and/or learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, mental health and barriers to learning. Support Mentor Autism

Day to day duties of the role Work with curriculum teams to identify and support students who are 'at risk of leaving’. Ensure a timely and effective 'at risk’ referral system is in place. Implement action plans with 'at risk’ students to ensure they remain on programme and improve attendance. Provide advice and guidance to staff on welfare and mental health issues. To provide advice, guidance and support to students on a range of welfare issues including financial support, housing, health, mental/emotional health and personal matters. Required skills and qualifications Full Level 3 qualification (or equivalent). Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience in giving advice on and dealing with welfare issues and supporting positive mental health. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. This role is full-time, working 37 hours per week. Day to day duties To deliver a high quality curriculum delivering Maths and English courses. Organisational and administrative work. Preparation, assessment and marking. Developing and completing ILPs and contextual statements to monitor individual learner progress. Required skills and qualifications All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College. Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies. Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer literacy skills including an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office.
