CIMA Certificate Business Accounting

The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is a qualification that gives you a good business foundation. It provides a pathway straight into the CIMA Professional Qualification.

The Certificate will give a grounding in the basics of business and accounting. Its aim is to ensure an understanding of the principles of book-keeping, budgeting and preparing management and financial accounts. It examines how formal business relationships between organisations are established and the economic environment in which organisations operate.

Computer Based Exams (CBE)

How is it structured?
There are four stages of exams for the CIMA Certificate qualification:

1. Fundamentals of Business Economics (BA1)
2. Fundamentals of Management Accounting (BA2)
3. Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (BA3)
4. Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law (BA4)

Our courses are scheduled over weekends designed in mind for the individual at work who does not gain a great deal of study leave to attend courses. Each module is planned over an approximate 10 week period therefore all papers can be completed within one year. Modules can be sat in any order and therefore students can start the course at any point in the year.

Most students then go on to start their full CIMA qualification with us.

Tuition
Our courses are mostly scheduled over weekends providing greater flexibility
for employers to offer study leave around business requirements. This enables
students who do not receive study leave to attend courses. Each module is
planned over an approximate 10-week period, therefore all papers can be
completed within 12 months. Modules can be sat in any order and students can start the course at any point in the year.

• Revision question bank
• Revision cards

• Access to tutor support via email outside of the class
• On-line practice mock exams with the facility to take as open book to aid learning and/or timed for real exam preparation

Free Exam Resit
We are fully confident that our Certificate in Business Accounting training
programme will ensure your success. We are willing to offer any student who is
unsuccessful at their exam, a free Computer Based Exam (CBE).
To qualify, students need to have attended all full days of the relevant course,
provide evidence of their Pearson exam failure certificate, have sat exam
within four weeks from the course end date, and submitted evidence of a free
resit voucher within six weeks of the course end date.
Students will then be eligible for one free resit per student, with full access to
the Teams platform and all course recordings for their revision. This can either
be taken at Reed Business School or if booking at a Pearson Centre, Reed will
provide a voucher for the exam entry fee.

Our timetable
We timetable our courses to enable students to focus on one paper at a
time, typically following a rolling 12-month study programme to complete one
round of Objective Test papers and Case Study exam. The individual duration
of each course reflects the complexities of the modules syllabus. Students are provided the opportunity to sit their Computer Based Exam (CBE) sessions that can
be booked directly with us and sat here at The Manor.

We are based in a stunning Cotswold manor house, but inside the traditional exterior we have amazing, up-to-date learning facilities in every classroom. We utilise Microsoft Teams to live record all our lessons - an invaluable resource for revision, to consolidate learning and to keep in touch with you course colleagues.

Do you need to stay over?
We have our own Cotswold cottage accommodation just a few metres from the business school. Rooms are available to book at an additional cost if you are based further away or if you would like to stay over to really concentrate on your studies in the evenings.

Catering
We have a team of our own chefs who freshly prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch is included for everyone, other meals are if you are staying with us.

Are you currently employed and looking for a training provider for your professional qualification?

Reed Business School is listed on the Government Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers and are approved to deliver apprenticeship training (level 4 and 7) and can offer you advice on how to apply for the apprenticeship scheme. Being an apprentice will allow your employer to access significant funding options.

At the start of each CIMA student's apprenticeship we will agree a Individual Learning Plan with you, so you can map out your CIMA qualification journey.

Maybe you’re considering a career in business and finance, already working and want to get further in your career, or looking to change careers – you can study the Cert BA no matter your background. The only requirements are competence in mathematics and the English language.

The Cert BA is a qualification in it's own right and also forms a formal entry route into the CIMA Professional Qualification. Once students successfully complete both qualifications and qualify for membership, they will be awarded the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
