Overview

The Cyber Security Readiness Skills Bootcamp is an intensive nine (9) week course which, like our IT Skills Bootcamp, combines personal and technical development.

The personal development side includes CV support, interview skills, identifying interpersonal and transferable skills and utilising social media for employability while the technical side includes BCS Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) and CertNexus CyberSafe. These two individual courses give every candidate a comprehensive understanding of information security principles and how they can be applied in practice. The Skills Bootcamp covers a wide range of topics, including the principles of information security, risk management, legal and regulatory requirements, and incident management.

Technical topics Covered on the programme:

BCS Certified in Information Security Management Principles

Gain knowledge of the concepts relating to information security management, understanding of current legislation, and the categorisation, operation, and effectiveness of controls of different types and characteristics.

Introduction to Cyber Security:

  • Exploring the field of cyber security, learning how to stay safe on the web, learning about attack vectors and attack types, and exploring the career options in cyber security.

  • Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Future of Tech

  • Understand IoT, AI, and the recent rise of Generative Pre-Trained Transformer Language Models such as ChatGPT, how they work, and how you can become part of them and use them.

9-hour tutor-led sessions | 3 x 2-hour sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Level 3, min prerequisites ideally require IT knowledge and experience with a security focus.
