Description
Globally, it’s believed that 26% of the world’s population gamble, and this equates to 1.6 billion people. While this course will focus on UK statistics, it’s worth recognising how big the gambling industry is.
In addition, this course will also introduce the facts of gambling, such as who can gamble, while informing you of the different types of gambling. We’ll then explore the risk factors and signs, look at case studies, and explore the external influences that encourage a gambling culture.
This course will also provide you with information about the effects of gambling and help you get to grips with the reasons why a person might begin gambling and how it can spiral out of control.
We’ll also look at the negative side of gambling by reviewing the emotional effects and discussing how people who gamble can end up in debt, and even become so out of control, they feel compelled to steal.
Finally, this course will investigate how a gambler can be supported effectively by family and friends, as we explore the therapy available as well as blocking tools, links to organisations that can provide professional help, and the dos and don’ts when supporting others!
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.
