ILSPA's Legal Secretary Foundation courses enable you to gain a qualification in a specific area of law. These courses are suitable for individuals who are interested in a particular area of law or who already work in a specific legal department.

We offer a range of subjects that can be studied online by distance learning, at your own pace. Distance Learning is a very popular form of study. The more time you dedicate to the course, the sooner you can complete it. On average, Students complete the course in three to six months. If you would prefer to take your time due to other commitments, you have up to one year to submit your coursework.

ILSPA's Legal Secretary Foundation courses are available in four areas of law:

Students will gain a good foundation in law and learn about the day-to-day tasks of a Legal Secretary. The course covers legal document production, how to complete legal forms and how to type professional correspondence.

Once enrolled, you will be able to access the course material, achievement test, practical assessments and Student resources. ILSPA's Legal Secretary course is complete in itself, and you do not need to purchase any textbooks. Our Student and Member area also contains fantastic resources to help you with your studies.

There are no examinations for the Legal Secretary Foundation courses. You are assessed through online achievement tests and practical assessments. Full instructions and examples are provided in the course material to enable you to complete the coursework.

Our Legal Secretary Foundation courses are suitable for those who would like to gain knowledge of an area of law and learn about the legal secretarial procedures involved. You do not need to have any previous experience of law. Once qualified, you will receive a Foundation certificate in your subject of choice.

ILSPA’s Legal Secretary Foundation courses are suitable for:

• Law Graduates who want to gain practical skills

There are no entry requirements for the course, however we recommend that you have a good typing speed, computer literacy, an understanding of Microsoft Word, and a good standard of spoken and written English. If you don't have these skills, we advise that you acquire them whilst you are studying.
