Description

A minimum of 19 units are required to be completed to achieve this qualification of which the following 8 are mandatory for all the pathways:

  • Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
  • Allocating Work and Checking People’s Performance in the Workplace
  • Establishing, Implementing and Maintaining Systems for Managing Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • Evaluating and Selecting Work Methods to Meet Project or Operational Requirements in the Workplace
  • Monitoring Construction Related Project Activities in the Workplace
  • Controlling Project Progress Against Agreed Quality Standards in the Workplace
  • Controlling Project Progress Against Agreed Programmes in the Workplace
  • Managing Personal Development in a Construction-related Workplace

ASSESSMENT METHOD

This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units.

Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

The qualification will be assessed in line with the Construction Skills Consolidated Assessment Strategy and will be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified assessor.

Candidates who achieve the requirements for qualifications will be awarded:

A certificate listing all units achieved and giving the full qualification title – ProQual Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management (Construction)
Once achieved you can contact CSCS to enquire to apply for a Management CSCS Black Card.

Requirements

In order to meet the assessment criteria candidates should be working in the role of construction site manager in building and civil engineering, highways maintenance and repair, residential development, conservation or demolition.

We would carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.

If I successfully complete the course from outside the UK then how will I get my CSCS Black Card?

Answer:

Hi, We don't issue card, we only qualify you for the NVQ and you will get your NVQ certificate from us through our Awarding body. If you need the black card, you will need to apply to CITB with your NVQ certificate to get it.

Hi Ademuyiwa, This is a competence-based qualification and requires that you are able to demonstrate and show that you are a competent manager and be able to provide documentation as proofs.

Hi I have a civil engineering degree in the Philippines (5yrs study) and holding a licensed professional as civil engineer, can I enrol for this?

Answer:

Hello There, apologies for the late reply, yes you can enrol for the qualification, you will have to answer some knowledge questions ,supply a number document evidences and go through a professional discussion with your assigned assessor, before you can achieve this qualification. This means you must have been practising as a construction site engineer/ Construction Site manager before you can get the document evidences. It takes 3 -12 months to complete depending on your input.

The documents to present are those that are normally used on construction site that every manager should normally have. This will be explained further to you by your Assessor when you start your qualification.

Is this a fully online course? Also is there a time limit to it and what cscs card can be obtained after completion?

Answer:

Hello there, it’s a qualification that you will be assessed on, while you are currently working as a site manger or working towards it. It’s not an online course but you may be assessed via an e-portfolio system. This qualification may be achieved anytime between 3-12months depending on the candidate’s input. Once achieved you will get a Cscs black card. Please let me know if this answers your questions.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
