Job role: Academic Manager in Science and Engineering

Location: Central London

Hours: 37.5 hours 9-5.30pm Mon-Fri

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £38,500 - £40,000 per annum + benefits

The global education establishment delivers university preparation programme and enrols international learners from thousands of students from over 100 countries. We are in search of a Sciences or Engineering subject matter expert who has demonstrated expertise in guiding academic teams and overseeing the high standards of learning, teaching, and assessments within the program.

The Science and Engineering team holds a crucial position, managing various facets of the student life cycle, from pre-arrival through progression to university. Within the curriculum areas of Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Sciences, the team is committed to delivering academic excellence.

Your responsibilities as an Academic Manager in Science and Engineering will include:

  • Manage a team of academic teaching and support staff
  • Teach 10-12 hours per week within the science and engineering curricula
  • Managing academic standards, encompassing teaching, learning support, and assessments
  • Ensuring student feedback is collected effectively and used to enhance the student experience

To be a successful in the role you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in science and engineering curricula on university preparation programmes (Level 4)
  • Experience in supervising or leading a team or project to enhance curriculum
  • An understanding of the diverse needs of international students
