THE BUSINESS
 
Westray Recruitment Group are working with an established manufacturing company based in Washington who are looking for an Accountant to join the team.
 
As the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the efforts and results of the financial department. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team reporting into Directors and Group Financial Controller in regard to all financial and accounting activities, overseeing financial department staff in day-to-day operations.
 
 
THE ROLE
  • Preparing the monthly Profit & Loss report and other reports to the management
  • Bookkeeping entries for all the expenses
  • Reports to authorities – VAT, TAX, Pensions
  • Bank – connection, reconciliation and posting
  • Salaries control and payments
  • Budget preparation and expenses control
  • Payments to suppliers
  • Money collection from customers
  • Costing – preparing the yearly hourly cost per department and preparing costing reports.
  • Monthly profitability reports
  • Monthly calculation of the inventory value including inventory control
  • Credit cards control and posting
  • Preparing the material for the audit and preparing the audited yearly financial statements
  • Yearly tax report
  • Managing the cash flow – including projected CF.
 
THE PERSON
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques and cost accounting methodologies
  • AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting Level 3 (Essential) Level 4 (Preferred)
  • Good communication skills at all levels
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong IT skill
  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
  • Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success
  • Must be able to lead and work in team environment and build relationships
  • Proven experience within management accounts
