Accounts Assistant (Accountancy Firm)

Salary: £27,000 to £35,000 DOE - pro rata to hours worked

Based: Wimborne

Are you qualified or qualified by experience with a proven track record of preparation of accounts for sole traders, Partnerships or Companies?

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to help prepare the year end accounts for a variety of businesses. This role is working for an established and friendly accountancy firm in Wimborne.

The role is for approximately 20 hours a week and can be spread over 2 or 3 days. The company is flexible if you wish to work school hours or set your hours across the week to suit your personal circumstances.

Duties/Experience:

  • Preparation of period end financial statements for Companies, Partnerships and sole traders
  • Bookkeeping and VAT reporting
  • Ideally you will have some experience of bookkeeping software - i.e. Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
  • Good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills as there will be some contact with clients via telephone/email relating to general queries
  • Reconciling of the main control accounts, i.e. Bank, VAT, Debtor, Creditor, PAYE
  • Use of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Some payroll experience would be ideal but not essential
  • Champion service excellence throughout all communications and deliverables.
  • Deliver to set deadlines and offer a hands-on approach to problem solving.

You will be working in an open plan office with a friendly team of established accounts assistants.
