Our client is a leading equipment supplier in the telecoms sector. They are now looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their well established team on a permanent basis.

Duties

Overseeing and supporting the key ledgers, inventory, receivables, and payables:

  • Purchase ledger/accounts payable processes
  • Sales ledger/accounts receivable processes
  • Banking and petty cash management
  • Credit management and cash collections, ensuring compliance with US policies
  • Customer/vendor master data control
  • Process credit card and employee cash expenses

Preparation of financial reporting, to include:

  • Support in the preperation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring compliance
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Adhoc financial reporting for UK site, the group and US parent

Cash and treasury management, to include:-

  • Bank and cash pool reconciliations
  • Anti-fraud process management, adherence to strict controls

Preparation of tax reporting, to include: -

  • Assisting with Forecast tax reports for US parent company
  • Assisting with annual statutory tax calculations and returns, ensuring compliance (R&D, Corporation tax)
  • Quarterly VAT returns, import VAT and duty

Support controller with adherence to US parent financial control policies, ensuring compliance and any other adhoc tasks

Requirements

  • Part qualified accountant
  • Intermediate Excel (e.g. lookups, pivot tables)
  • Experience in management and statutory reporting
  • Experience with control processes and improvements
