Job title: Behaviour Mentor

Setting: Alternative Provision School

Pay rate: £90.00 - £120.00 per day (depending on experience)

Start date: Immediate

Duration: long term with the view to go permanent

Active Recruitment are working with an Outstanding Alternative Provision school in West London, who are looking for an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join them as soon as possible on a temp to perm basis. The role is to provide 1:1 and group support to young people with special educational, social and emotional difficulties. The Behaviour Mentor will develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with learner receiving support, aimed at achieving the goals defined in their individual action plan.

Duties of the Behaviour Mentor

  • Create and maintain effective, immediate intervention strategies for behaviour incidents
  • Develop conventional teaching methods so as to meet individual needs of each child
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to SEN students with learning disabilities and cognitive impairments, promoting students' access and engagement.
  • Discuss children's problems or issues with parents and other staff members to decide appropriate actions.
  • To contribute to the assessment of pupil progress and to produce detailed written reports outlining pupil progress.
  • Maintain a record of evaluations as evidence of effective practice, support and guidance
  • Identify, in association with school staff, pupils who would benefit from mentoring.
