Bookkeeper
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Basildon
  • Salary Range: £28,000 to £30,000
  • Part time or Full time (Some Hybrid once fully trained)

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This role requires a high level of accuracy and the ability to handle confidential information.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Reconcile bank accounts at the end of each month.
  • Monitor financial transactions and reports.
  • Process accounts receivable and payable.
  • Understand ledgers and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
  • Work with the accounting and management team to set budgets, monitor spending, and process payroll and other expenses.
  • Collate and analyze account data and generate financial reports.
  • Track and maintain inventory records.
  • Maintain a filing system for all financial documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • AAT qualification or similar is preferred but not essential.
