Hays are working with a well established business based in the Telford area who are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager on a permanent basis.
Your new role
As a Business Development Manager your role willl involve:

  • Identify and generate leads that are potential users packaging products.
  • Communicate and follow up with the factories for prices, business development projects, material testing and agreeing negotiation margins.
  • Drive the process of converting sales leads into prospects and potential customers.
  • Liaise closely with the senior sales managers, and the senior business development manager for technical and commercial support.
  • Convert prospects into customers. CRM process. - liaise and coordinate with the sales team to guarantee a continuous sales support and nurturing the relationship with the customers.
  • Coordinate with product managers of the factories for customers visits when required and only if needed. This is required from time to time to support the technical sales approach and the complementing commercial discussions.
  • Candidate should exercise a sense of responsibility in optimising the travel expenses, as this area will continuously be assessed based on the sales performance.
  • Entering Leads and prospects data entry on CRM /ERP system.
  • Collecting and processing of purchase orders, and follow up with the customer services for progress, updates and communicate accordingly with the customers. - Commencing frequent customers' visits in person and maintain the follow up on potential customers to translate the efforts into business opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to consider the following:

  • The candidate should be self-driven, have the self-initiative, and responsible for growing the sales of packaging products in the region responsible for.
  • Being a team player, dynamic, flexible, and adaptable to changes are key elements for success.
  • The candidate should also have a sense of ownership towards the business, and should reflect that in the performance.
  • Experience in the sales of flexible packaging products for the Food and catering, industrial, agricultural, and Hygiene sectors. (Minimum experience of 5-7 years in the flexible packaging sales and commercial positions)
