We are working with Bury Council to find an Administrator on a temporary basis. 

Hourly Rate: £12 per hour PAYE  
Location: Office based, Bury, Dorset Drive, BL9 9DN  
Length of role: Initial 5 months.
Hours: Full time. Mon-Fri 
Additional requirements: This role will require an enhanced DBS to be processed before start date.  

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Early Help – Children’s team, providing essential support to ensure the smooth operation of our service.

Day to Day of the role:

- Monitor service generic email inboxes and distribute, allocate, or process requests as needed.  

- Maintain operational and administrative filing systems.  

- Organise, update, and maintain databases with records and reports.  

- Provide a positive, professional welcome to all visitors and act as the first point of contact.  

- Respond to routine enquiries, offering advice, guidance, information, and support.  

- Undertake reception duties, managing visitor sign-in in line with health and safety requirements.  

- Process incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution, filing, or response.  

- Update and extract information from management systems accurately, including report collation.  

- Attend meetings, take informal actions, and distribute papers.  

- Manage financial processes, including handling and banking monies, and petty cash reconciliation.  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Proven experience in an administrative role.  

- Excellent customer service skills.  

- Proficiency in using email, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.  

- Experience in handling financial processes is desirable.  

- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
