Hazlemere Group have an exciting opportunity for a Chef to join their team.

Location: Holsworthy, Devon, EX21 5JS

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum + Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift Work)

Chef - The Role:

In this role you will design, prepare, cook and deliver high quality dishes for all our holiday guests whilst maintaining the smooth running of the kitchen.

Chef- Key Responsibilities:

- Designing your own menu, with starters, mains, desserts and regular specials boards

- Ensuring the guests’ requirements are always met and naturally seeking out opportunities to exceed their expectations

- Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen area is maintained to a high standard and that all company and legal requirements are met at all times

- Following guidelines on stock control, portion control and food wastage, taking action as necessary to maintain food Cost of Sales for the unit

- Supporting, implementation and production of menus, procedures and standards as required

- Complying with the guidelines and practices in respect of food safety as detailed in the Food Safety Manual

Chef - You:

Essential:

- The ideal candidate will be naturally helpful, enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills

- A good deal of common sense, etiquette and ability to think on one’s feet

- Flexibility with previous experience as a chef

- A good standard of spoken and written English is required and the ability to understand allergies and dietary requirements

- Ability to work without supervision and to work as part of a team

- Good organisational and planning skills

- Ability to use one’s initiative to resolve issues quickly in an appropriate manner

Desirable:

- Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate

- Formal cooking qualification or willingness to study towards
