Our established and growing client based in Birmingham is looking for a Chemical / Finishing Manager to join their senior management team. The Chemical / Finishing Manager will oversee the chemical and metal finishing processes, ensuring that all safety and environmental regulations are being followed. You will manage the chemical inventory and ensure proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials as well as training staff on safety and environmental protocols and conducting quality control tests. There are 2 new finishing plants due to be installed within the next 12 months. You will also have responsibility for the de-burring and polishing departments.
Chemical / Finishing Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe and efficient processing of chemicals and finishing departments in an industrial setting.
- Supervise and direct the activities of the personnel involved in the production processes, ensuring that all safety and environmental regulations are followed.
- Provide technical support and oversee the maintenance of production equipment.
- Efficient utilisation of raw materials to ensure the reduction of waste.
- Manage the chemical inventory and ensure proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Manage planned maintenance schedule to limit down time.
Chemical / Finishing Manager Skills and Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in a chemical supervisory or management role
- Knowledge of chemical and metal finishing production processes
- Knowledge of safety and hazard regulations
- Ability to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
- IT literate.
- Plating / anodising background, able to understand voltages etc.
