Purpose of the Role

As the Cleaning Operative within the cleaning side of the business you will ensure exemplary standards in communication to our customers, retailers and team members and be an ambassador for World Class Service delivery within Victoria Centre.

Key Responsibilities

The main elements of the role are as follows:

  • To be clean, smart in appearance, and wear company uniform at all times so that Victoria Centre reputation for professionalism and quality is never compromised.
  • To ensure that the cleanliness standards of our centre reflect our World Class Service delivery.
  • To comply with all of the Health and Safety Procedures for the department including COSHH, machinery check sheets, PPE, clinical waste and sharps policy
  • To liaise with Team Leaders and colleagues to ensure a smooth running of department.
  • To maintain all of the sanitary areas to the required standard, replenishing supplies as required.
  • To ensure graffiti is removed immediately.
  • Maintaining safe working practices in line with HASAWA, taking care of own and others health and safety.
  • Increasing your knowledge and skills through education and training.
  • Undertaking any further duties as requested by the supervisory or management team.
  • Courteous communication skills are required to liaise with members of the public and retailers.
  • Always demonstrate an elevated level of customer service.
  • Be able to relay directions to customers and have knowledge of the facilities within Victoria Centre.
  • Work with other departments in reducing crime within the Centre.
  • To maintain accurate records in accordance with site procedures.
  • Deal with any emergency as required.
  • Make suggestions on the improvement of cleaning systems and procedures.
  • Feedback suggestions from customers to allow for continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Any other duties requested by site management.
  • Excellent customer interpersonal skills with a confident and friendly disposition
  • Ability to work to own initiative and actively solve problems when presented.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Reliable and flexible/supportive team player
  • Attention to detail/vigilance

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience of working in a cleaning role
  • Demonstrable background in Customer Service
  • Flexible, committed
  • Attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills

Desirable:

  • BICs qualified
  • Experience of working with cleaning machinery

Working Hours - Rolling rota 5 out of 7 including weekends 

Salary - £11.44 per hour, £23,796 annual salary
