Clinical Pharmacist - Mental Health

Ackerman Pierce are looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to work at one of ourTrusts to ensure the delivery and development of a first class clinical pharmacy service to the mental health department.

Salary: £36/h

This Clinical Pharmacist - Mental Health role provides a unique opportunity for flexible shift patterns, great pay rates, access to weekly pay and the ability to work in various clinical settings and departments. You will be able to build or develop on your existent skills and be able to try work at several different departments!

What you'll need as a Clinical Pharmacist - Mental Health :

  • Abide by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics and performance as well as standards for registered pharmacies, observing and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligations
  • Ensure patients are given appropriate counselling and information, regarding their medicines. To counsel patients on the use of their medicines and to counter-prescribe suitable medicines if necessary
  • Provide professional leadership in the pharmacy, ensuring all pharmacy practice, including their own, is within the boundaries described within the latest version of the Medicines, Ethics and Practice issued by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Up-to-date clinical best practice knowledge
  • The right to work in the UK
  • You will have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
    It is also desirable, however not essential that you have a postgraduate pharmacy qualification or equivalent experience, and post registration experience in mental health.
  • Clinical review of prescriptions and patient-orientated medication review
  • Provision of specialist pharmaceutical advice to multi-disciplinary teams
  • Involvement of patients in decisions about their medicines to support adherence and improve outcomes
  • Potential to utilise non-medical prescribing skills within the role outline
  • Opportunity to influence the development of services to improve patient care through service redesign
  • Participation in clinical audit and service evaluation
  • Supervision of junior pharmacy staff
  • Contribution to the training and development of junior pharmacy team members and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Participation in the clinical supervision programme
  • Input to the development of policies and procedures and treatment guidelines
  • Contribute to initiatives to improve medicines safety
