Compliance Director
An outstanding Compliance Director permanent position has arisen with a top-tier Manufacturing / Engineering organisation based in Central London
This is a hybrid position offering 3 days homeworking.
The Compliance Director will manage and develop the Legal Compliance team and programme covering the areas of anti-bribery & corruption, data privacy, third party due diligence, competition law, AML, financial crime and data protection.
Responsibilities
- Manage, lead and develop the Compliance team.
- Support the development and management of the ethics and compliance programme focusing on legal compliance, anti-bribery corruption data privacy and data protection.
- Lead the review and update of existing policies, procedures and other internal systems to ensure that they are in compliance with relevant laws. Including many legal compliance policies, HR policies and policies on business process.
- Manage the implementation, roll-out and development of the compliance training and awareness programmes.
- Create an awareness programme that notifies employees on enhanced awareness of compliance matters and new policies and procedures.
- Influence at all levels including senior management, BU management, business and corporate functions
Skills & experience
- Head of Compliance, Director of Compliance or Deputy Head of Compliance with proven experience in legal compliance, FCPA, anti-bribery & corruption, trade compliance and data privacy.
- Industry experience within Manufacturing, Engineering, FMCG, Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, Logistics, Infrastructure, Aerospace, or Technology.
- A legal background with experience advising in an in-house environment.
- Experience considering and working to resolve ethical issues in a business context.
- Negotiation and influencing skills, winning hearts and minds whilst adopting a commercial approach.
- Experience in advising in an international environment would be an advantage.
- Open, direct communication style: accessible and approachable.
- Confidence to be resolute in applying standards and to challenge commercial and business teams where necessary.
- Experience in managing training. Coordinating online and face-to-face training in a business-focused and engaging way.
