Our client in Fakenham are looking for a Design Engineer with a mechanical background to join their close knit team. This is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking business with exciting career progression opportunities.

As a Design Engineer, you will need the following:

  • 2 years' experience as a Design Engineer
  • Mechanical Engineering background
  • A sound understanding of mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of machined parts, fabricated assemblies
  • The ability to quickly and effectively create part and assembly drawings in accordance with BS8888 for internal and external
  • The ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar
  • Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
  • Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
  • Able to work as part of a small team
  • Excellent communication skills

As a Design Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Creation of detailed drawings of custom parts
  • Source supplier quotes for custom made parts, within timescale and budget
  • Procurement of custom made and project specific parts, within timescale and budget
  • Creation of BOMs for special products
  • Creation of assembly drawings / work instructions for manufacture
