Position: Director of Finance & Operations

Salary: £100K - £120K + package

Location: London - Hybrid working 2/3 days per week in the office

A Director of Finance and Operations is being recruited by a global impact advisory firm that works with investors, companies and governments to co-create the future financing of sustainable nature-based projects. Recognised worldwide as an innovation hub bridging capital markets and the preservation of natural ecosystems, the firm operates at the forefront of impactful investment strategies.

The business is in the process of transitioning to a for-profit commercial model, based on investment advisory services and the development of an investment platform. As part of this transformation process, the Director of Finance & Operations will play a pivotal role in driving this transformation and spearheading the company's future growth trajectory.

Responsibilities:

• Finance: Overseeing financial strategies, budgeting, reporting and supporting the Senior Management team with meaningful insights and analysis.

• General Operations: Streamlining day-to-day operations to optimise efficiency and productivity.

• HR & Recruitment: Driving talent acquisition strategies and fostering a culture of excellence across the organisation.

• Legal, Compliance and Tax: Ensuring regulatory compliance and managing legal affairs to mitigate risks.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A qualified accountant with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience, demonstrating proficiency in financial management and operational/COO functions.

• Experience in start-up or SME environments, preferably within the financial services, consulting, or impact investing sectors (e.g., private equity, venture capital, funds, development finance institutions).

• Passion for ecosystem services and natural capital investments, with a commitment to addressing pressing climate resilience and biodiversity challenges.
