A secondary academy in Wigan is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a real passion for Performing Arts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly experienced team of supportive and enthusiastic colleagues. The department has a strong curriculum that is well-planned and ready to deliver, with the flexibility to allow the successful candidate to contribute their own creative ideas and style of pedagogy. The department engages in a range of extra curricular activities including an annual musical, Winter and Summer showcases, Performer of the Year which is a Trust-wide competition open to every student within the trust. The successful candidate for this post will be working within a large Trust of schools which brings with it opportunities beyond this role for further professional development.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Wigan
  • Position - Drama Teacher
  • Type of work - Supply Teacher
  • Start date - September 2024
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Day to day bookings, with the potential for extension depending on schools
  • End date (if applicable) - N/A
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on schools needs
  • Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £120 per day
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm (full day), half day (am or pm), individual lesson cover

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
