Reed Education is seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Lancaster. The role is available immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the English curriculum, effective communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an engaging and inspiring learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering high-quality English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 being advantageous.
  • Preparing lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to a range of learning abilities.
  • Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and adapting teaching methods to suit individual needs.
  • Creating a positive learning atmosphere that promotes student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop teaching materials and share best practices.
  • Acting as a role model for students, embodying qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, and good listening skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience being beneficial.
  • Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management skills.
  • A reliable and committed individual who is passionate about working with students.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence in working with children.
