The opportunity
Nigel Wright is working in partnership with an organisation who are looking to add a Temp Finance Assistant to join their team based in York. We are looking for people who are available to start immediately to help the organisation through a period of restructure 

Finance Assistant - Temp ongoing (possibility of a Temp to Perm option)
Full Time Hours – 37hrs per week
Term Time only  
£20,800 (Pro Rata Salary)


The role...
Working closely with the Business Manager and part of the Finance Team providing full finance admin support. Some of the daily duties include: 
  • To ensure purchase order requisition and staff expenses are authorised and processed.
  • Ensuring goods received notes are checked and updated on the organisations accounting system.
  • Maintain stocks of office equipment and supplies needed by the school
  • Update the inventory of all items of furniture & equipment for the school
  • Completing debtors requests and reporting to the correct team to ensure recovery of outstanding payments 
  • Provision of management information from the respective cashless systems to ensure accurate figures for the Trusts bank accounts  
  • Collating and provision of any information required to support the school financial management/procurement activity for the Business Manager.
  • Undertaking financial Admin and reconciliation of catering, educational visits, transport and any other income streams
  • Posting results to the Financial Accounting system in accordance with the Trusts monthly financial management timetable.
  • Preparing monthly payroll reports, monthly capitation reports for school budgets
  • Prepare for review monthly financial reports
  • Providing general administration support within the team as required. 

What we are looking for...
Some of the key things we are looking for in the ideal candidate would be: 
  • Previous experience within a similar role - working within education would be of particular interest but not essential
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent within relevant discipline
  • Good IT skills with MS Office and accounting software
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills as will be liaising with members of various teams, stakeholders, parents and children.
  • Ability to work as part of the team but still manage own workload to ensure work is completed within specific deadlines
  • Flexibility to assist with various tasks as required by the team
