Finance Manager (Part-time)

As demand for our service continues to grow, we’re on the hunt for someone who can bring leadership to the accounting services that we provide for clients who outsource their finance function to us. We are a Finance Director practice that additionally provides accounting and bookkeeping services to our clients. Whether working with clients, suppliers, regulatory authorities or our internal team, we’re after someone who will keep our clients' accounting records in excellent order and who communicates a desire to help with integrity.

With our commitment to flexibility, this post is open to someone initially starting at 0.8 FTE, potentially growing into full time. Save for very occasional meetings with clients, the work is performed remotely. We have developed the whole business model based on remote working and the financial processes in place support this. Our culture is developed such that you can thrive in this environment. Our range of clients provide an interesting and varied workload on a flexible hour’s basis.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for a variety of businesses
• Co-ordination and support for in-house as well as client bookkeepers
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, taking responsibility for resolution of issues
• Payroll, liaising with clients to obtain monthly update information.
• Preparation of VAT returns for a variety of businesses
• Preparing and posting accrual and prepayment schedules
• Maintaining Fixed Registers
• Supporting the business with onboarding clients

• Expertise from working within finance functions
• Being either qualified or part qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or having an equivalent qualification through experience.
• High attention to detail and the ability to double check work against a variety of data sources
• Ability to bring personal encouragement and laughter to the practice
• Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines: keeping multiple plates spinning at once
• A positive attitude and a willingness to help with a wide range of tasks from all aspects of the business
• A clear communicator, both written and spoken
• An ability to delight our customers
• Bring support to the development of the practice

• Base Salary full time equivalent: £45,000 - £50,000
• Pension scheme of 3% -5% contribution
