Reed Accountancy is partnering with a reputable business based in Evesham and we are on the hunt for a dynamic Finance Manager to spearhead a team tasked with the production of statutory accounts and execution of financial routines. This key role involves maintaining databases related to finance and property, and managing creditor, debtor, and payroll services. As a specialist in accounting, you’ll be leading accounting policy and practice, and be specifically responsible for the timely completion of quarterly VAT returns and statutory accounts.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager:

  • Lead and Manage Finance Team: Direct and inspire the finance team to ensure the production of statutory accounts, financial routines, and maintain finance and property databases.
  • Accounting Expertise and Policy Leadership: Serve as the primary authority in accounting, leading on accounting policy, practice, and advising on changes.
  • Financial Reporting and Audit Management: Ensure timely completion of quarterly VAT returns, statutory accounts, and manage the external audit process.
  • Financial Operations Supervision: Oversee creditor, debtor, and payroll services, including company credit cards, petty cash, and monthly journals for accruals, and prepayments.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Identify financial risks, implement controls to manage them, ensure compliance with the Rent Standard, and process annual rent and service charge increases.

To be the successful Finance Manager, you will need:

  • Professional accountancy qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role, with a strong technical accounting background and experience of FRS102.
  • Demonstrated experience as a people manager, able to support a team through change.
  • Excellent communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Experience in planning and leading a year-end process.
