Financial Controller - Clothing

Currently based in South East London and moving to Hackney Wick later in the year

A superb Luxury award winning uniform design company is looking to appoint a Finance Controller . As the Finance controller you will report into the Founder / MD. You will be hands on and collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to develop and execute financial plans, ensuring that they align with the wider business objectives and support their expansion goals. Your knowledge and expertise will be imperative in guiding key financial decisions and maximising profitability.

They currently work with some of the biggest luxury hospitality clients in the world including Fairmont and Raffles Doha, Dorado Beach (a Ritz Carlton Reserve) - Puerto Rico, and London’s Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Four Seasons, The Goring, The Rosewood, NOBU, Claridge’s, and many more.

Role responsibilities

• Work closely with the Founder to develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's growth objectives.
• Build a team to manage the everyday running of the business
• Manage and monitor the financial performance of the company, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Conduct financial analysis to evaluate business opportunities, investment decisions, and cost optimisation strategies.
• Oversee accurate transparent financial reporting and financial controls, including weekly flash reports, monthly management accounts/KPIs, quarterly investor reporting and annual audit/statutory returns (HMRC/Companies House).
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Responsible for cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure budgets.
• Manage and update the company’s financial forecast model as well as undertake. bespoke financial modelling when required.
• Establish strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as banks, auditors, suppliers, clients and financial institutions.
• Build, lead and mentor the Finance team.

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Fully qualified professional accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
• Proven experience as a Finance Controller or in a similar senior finance role.
• Strong financial acumen and a comprehensive understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Sound knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools.
