Food Technology Technician | 3 Days a Week | Secondary School | Long term Role | Lambeth

We are looking for a Food Technician for a secondary school in South London to start as soon as possible and to work part-time on a long term basis.

The successful Technician will be working in the Design Technology department but will be specifically assigned to the Food areas.

The role will involve assisting in the maintenance and provision of the food technology classrooms and resources and assuring a safe working environment for teachers and students.

  • preparing food, materials and equipment for lessons
  • supporting the class teacher and students during lessons
  • offering technical advice to staff and students
  • monitoring food stock and raising orders where necessary
  • inputting data onto the school’s ICT systems

This role would suit a university graduate with related degree looking to gain some experience in a school environment.

It would also suit somebody experiences working in a secondary school environment previously and have relevant practical experience and qualifications relating to Food or Health & Safety.

Good communication and ICT skills are essential as well as an ability to use your initiative within a dynamic working environment. You should also be confident in your ability to inspire and encourage young people to excel in their studies.
