My client, A well-established regulator who work with the general public and healthcare industry to promote patient safety are looking for a forward-thinking Governance Manager to administer and manage all governance related activities, policies, and documentation. This role is 3 days per week.

This is a busy and varied role for the organisation, and you will be the central point for all governance related activities.

The role in more detail:

  • Have oversight of the Governance, re-appointments, and appointments processes as well as HR and EA’s
  • Liaises with new Governance appointees and re appointees to complete administrative requirements: collection of personal details, completion of Code of Conduct, Terms and Conditions, Conflict of Interest for online Declarations Register.
  • Manages the collation of the Annual Appraisal Scheme paperwork for Governance members.
  • Keep up to date with governance principles, best practice and changes and applies these to governance related activities and documents.
  • Maintain the organisations private electronic library of governance documents, Policies Register, company website information relating to the Committees and other supporting information.
  • Ensure any changes to governance are communicated to staff and members as appropriate.
  • Working with the EA, managing the Governance Annual Performance Review Scheme
  • Working close with HR, THE Governance Manager is responsible for collating appraisal paperwork and logging areas of development and implementing actions highlighted at annual performance review.
  • Draft agendas in partnership with relevant staff members, prepare Chairs briefings, attend meetings and take minutes for Council meetings, Audit Committee and Policy and Education Committee (Statutory Education Committee).
  • Draft governance related papers/reports for Council and Committees
  • Working with the Chief Executive, Chairs of Council, Committees and Human Resources, identifying and developing areas for the governance structure.

  • Forward thinking, able to anticipate challenges and bring others on the journey with them towards solutions which prevent escalation.
  • Experience working within a comparable governance model. Fully understands how governance structures operate and key governance terminology.
  • Up to date with equality, diversity and inclusion law,
  • Proven high quality committee and working group administration skills including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, undertaking follow up and supporting others to undertake action points and drafting agendas.
  • Excellent administration and Communication skills and attention to detail in relation to quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent working knowledge of IT systems including MS Suite, online meeting platform sites, database management and website management.
