Graduate Teaching Assistant - Stockport

Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced graduate teaching assistant in a popular Secondary School in Stockport. This position is to start September 2024 and will be ongoing.

You will be working with small groups of students to provide intervention support and help within the classroom. As a teaching assistant you will help the teacher maintain a calm and consistent learning environment. You must have a passion for helping others and able to create relationships with others quickly.

Graduates in any curriculum subject will be considered, however, the school are especially interested in graduates of core subjects: English, Maths and Science. Teaching assistants with L2 or L3 will be favoured as well. The school has exceptionally high expectations for all learners, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff and pupils have extremely positive relationships. Disruption to learning is rare as there is sensible behaviour and the positive attitudes to learning that pupils consistently display around the school. Pupils are happy with the wide range of subjects that they can choose to study and the extensive opportunities for their wider personal development. The school provides a wealth of activities for pupils to participate in, including football, dance, hockey and debating club.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree educated with a good classification (2:2).
  • PGCE and QTS
  • Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference).
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided).
  • Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided).
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional children related references
