Main Purpose of the Job:

You will be accountable for carrying out cost effective bodywork repairs, modifications and improvements on a wide range of vehicles and equipment to a high standard and in a timely manner, whilst complying with company policies, procedures and Health & Safety requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Able to complete tasks that are expected of a bodyworker including welding, straightening, stripping, re-fitting & replacing parts etc.
Competent in welding. Mig & Tig.
Have a good attention to detail
Completing tasks within a suitable time frame
Completing all paperwork or electronic records accurately
Liaise with Workshop Office colleagues to provide updates on job status, progress and the processing of paperwork
Comply with Health and Safety Legislation and internal H&S procedures including use of company issued loan working alarms and company mobile phones.
  • Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment is worn where necessary and is in good working order and condition.
  • Ensure that all working areas i.e. Workshop, customer locations are kept clean and free from hazards wherever possible
  • Ensure company vehicles are used in line with company policies / legal requirements and are kept clean and tidy after use.
  • Undertake vehicle manoeuvring around the workshop or airport as and when required where trained to do so and in conjunction with appropriate licences held.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required to support operational requirements.
  • To take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions.
  • To cooperate with your employer on health and safety.
  • Tell someone if you think the work or inadequate precautions are putting anyone’s health and safety at risk.
  • Not misuse any equipment that is provided for safety purposes.
  • All employees have the responsibility to behave in an environmentally ethical manner and all employees should follow the company’s environmental policies including the correct disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Our customers and the communities that we operate in trust us to ensure our activities stay safe. The consequences of our actions are not limited to TMS. Our actions can effect.
  • All employees should ensure that all electrical equipment must be PAT tested and should have a label that is in date . Employees working in a workshop environment should ensure that all Lifting equipment is LOLER compliant and tested
  • All employees have the responsibility to report accidents or potential accidents through the appropriate processes. This can be through accident, near miss or RIDDOR reporting.
Health and Safety Requirements:

To act responsibly and to do everything they can to prevent injury to themselves and other persons
Observe all rules, operating procedures and instructions regarding safety at all times
Correctly use safety equipment, protective devices and PPE where applicable
Inform immediate superior of all incidents, unsafe acts and near miss events whether persons are injured or not
Undertake and complete investigations into unsafe acts, near misses and incidents to the required standard, including root causals and remedial actions
Report any unsafe or defective plant, tools, equipment, PPE, practices, methods or other hazards
Promote Health and Safety in the workplace through continuous improvement and initiatives
Full UK Manual Driving Licence mandatory
  
Desirable Experience:
Coded Welding
Motor Industry environment
Airport industry environment
Exposure to GSE equipment, HGV / Plant Equipment
Forklift Licence
HGV/PSV Licence

Qualifications:
  • City & Guilds Level2/3
  • NVQ Level 2/3
  • Time served Apprenticeship
  • MIG, TIG, Stick welding experience in mild steel/aluminium
  • Basic Repair, vehicles
  • Diploma in Accident Repair Body Principles
  • Diploma in Accident Repair Paint Principles
  • Diploma in Accident repair MET Principles
Hours of work: 12 hours shifts working 6am- 6pm on a 4 on 4 off rotational shift pattern
