The Role:

Our client, a leading utilities company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join their team as the Head of Asset Solutions. This role is responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of customers' electric vehicle charge point equipment and controls hardware.

As the Head of Asset Solutions, you will be accountable for delivering an excellent customer experience, ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Your role will also involve demonstrating commercial acumen by identifying and developing opportunities in line with our client's ambitious growth plan.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage and delegate the workload of the team to ensure the delivery of objectives.
  • Develop, motivate, and lead the team, fostering technical knowledge and impact, and flexing resources to meet ad hoc work demands.
  • Partner with Product Managers to translate product and customer experience designs into implementation plans.
  • Develop a plan to manage the customer experience throughout the survey, installation, and maintenance of assets.
  • Oversee and manage third-party technology providers, engineers, and installers to ensure timely and budgeted delivery.
  • Identify and resolve potential risks and issues with third parties and customers.
  • Plan and project manage the implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of assets, including EV Charge points.
  • Manage product and customer acceptance testing of assets and supporting software.
  • Set budgets for projects and effectively manage expenditure.
  • Coordinate contract definition and agreement with third parties and customers for asset installation.
  • Monitor the performance of on-site assets, identifying and raising issues with asset providers.
  • Manage customer communications related to installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Identify and implement best practises for the installation process.
  • Identify and implement changes to improve efficiency.
  • Identify system failures and recommend enduring solutions.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant safety obligations.
  • Deputise for the Energy Services Director when required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship and account management skills in a complex customer environment.
  • Proven track record of performance management and delivery.
  • Background in project management with the ability to multi-task.
  • Experience in managing distributed energy generation projects.
  • Experience in managing the delivery of third-party suppliers.
  • Ability to manage and resolve customer queries and issues.
  • Experience in managing budgets.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate at a senior level and understand the impact of actions on others.
  • Culturally sensitive with a focus on the market and customer needs.
  • Driven, determined mindset with the ability to drive progress and find resolutions to challenges.
