Interim Head of Finance  

Location: London based, hybrid 2 days on site

Length: 3 months (Possibility of extension)

IR35 Status: Inside

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the overall management of the HRA business Plan and General Fund and the overall development of the Medium Term Financial Plan for 2024/25.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Head of Finance:

  • Lead the development of the 30 Year Housing Revenue Account Business Plan
  • Manage the robust assessment of HRA housing developments projects using appraisal tools that effectively tested financial impact on the HRA and General Fund
  • Develop the Medium Term Financial Plan to help achieve savings proposals, and determine new rent and service charges, annual budgets and investment decisions
  • Resolve legacy budget issues through effective engagement with service and finance colleagues
  • Bring more visibility to HRA debt and use of right to buy receipts
  • Manage a team of 6 to support the Directors and Heads of Service

Key skills of the Interim Head of Finance:

  • Must be ACCA qualified
  • Ideally experience within HRA, Parking, Environment, Adult learning, Asset Management Directorates 
  • Previous Head of management experience within a Local Authority setting
